Monday cards...

Ok, I'm really having fun making cards again. I think these color challenges that have been going on have inspired me to create! So Here are some I made yesterday. And I think the wheels keep turning in my head to make more! Ha!
I made this card as a belated birthday card to send to my Mother-in-law.

2 more Monday cards

I actually made this card a while back. It originally was on an all white card. So, I decided to crop it and put it on a brown card.

This card is super simple yet catching to the eye! I really like this one. But there is one thing about it that bothers me, it is not sitting centered on the yellow background, when I went to place it down, it was off a little but STUCK and I wasn't going to try and tear it off and have it messed up, so I left it.

4th Monday card

This is actually a guy card... can you tell?? Ha! Ok, so I am at a loss when it comes to making cards for guys these days. I pretty much have NO manly stamps and I usually borrow stamp sets from my mom since she has a vast collection. But I have not gotten any manly sets recently from her, and I think it's about time I do! So anyway, hopefully my step-father-in-law won't think this is too "girly" looking. Besides who says men only like bears, deer and guns???

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 2

I went ahead and did a digital page for this color challenge. I am really liking the colors Dawn is coming up with for these challenges. This one just happens to have colors that I LOVE right now!

Bride

This was a tutorial I did that Jessica Sprague offered on her web site for free. It was fun! I thought it would be neat to use a picture from my wedding.

Dawn McVey's color challenge 1

I originally was going to do a digital layout for this color challenge. But when I saw I had the colors of paper on hand, I decided to go ahead and make a card. I don't totally like this card. But it was still fun trying to come up with a look with all these colors, they're so fun and cheerful! For some reason I have a hard time with coming up with a cool look for my cards at times. I find myself looking at other peoples cards wondering "why can't I do something that cool, and come up with the idea on my own?" Ha! I guess we all go through those thoughts and feelings. Anyway, for now I will have to like what I create and be happy with who I am and how I make things. Maybe I will get better at this as I go.

My husband's birthday

My husband's birthday was on the 8th.

Two of the three handsomest men/boys in my life!

This is the DEEP DARK CHOCOLATE cake I made him that he requested.

The card Isaac made for Daddy (with a little help from Mommy).

The card I made for him.

I had to make this super quick (cause to my dismay I did not have his card made ahead of time). I really think that the "card making flame" that I had going so good for a while is starting to burn out. I just can't create anything good looking anymore. Ha! Maybe it's that I just have trouble with finding much "manly" stuff to work with.

I really think I need some photography HELP!!

Thank you & Birthday

A quick thank-you card I threw together.

Sorry, my photography "skills" are pretty horrible these days.

This is the birthday card I ended up sending to my friend (who I mentioned in an earlier post).

Life...

Sometimes life just doesn't get any sweeter or cuter than this...
Or sillier or more joyful than this... I love these boys SO much!

It started snowing yesterday on March 1st. Isaac wanted to go out and play in it.

Then it bagan to look like we walked into Narnia...

Happy March!

Cards

My son made this card all by himself for his cousin's birthday.
He did such a good job, he stamped it and then placed the button where he wanted them. Later he told me he wanted to take a picture of it, so I helped him with the camera and he took his own picture, he was very proud of his work!

This is the card I created for my nephew. I don't have many boyish or manly stamp sets and hope this isn't too young looking for a 7 year old.

I made two birthday cards, in mind for a friend's birthday coming up. The first one I wasn't sure I liked, then I made this one. Well, I ended up sending her the first one, cause I just didn't know if I liked this one well enough. Anyway, she'll be getting the first one and I'll show that later. I also made another card that I will show later as well.

Hershey Kiss Blossoms

I made these for my husband as a Valentine gift. Thought I'd share the recipe, I just bought a bag of mini Hershey's kisses and used the recipe on the back of the bag.

  • 3/4 cup Reese's creamy peanut butter (I just used Jif)
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Additional sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups (10 oz pkg.) Mini Hershey's kisses

1. Heat oven to 375F.

2. Beat together shortening and peanut butter. Beat in 1/3 cup sugar and brown sugar. beat in egg, milk and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually blend into peanut butter mixture.

3. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 mins. or until lightly brown. Immediately place 3 chocolates on top of each cookie, pressing down slightly. Cool cookies and enjoy! Makes 4 dozen.
